On Saturday, September 11th I started my day watching the news in remembrance of 9-11. Thinking back on that tragic day nine years ago brought tears to my face, but soon those mourning tears would be replaced with tears of joy. I drove to the Moorhead High School where I would meet many wonderful young ladies to learn a new production dance, swimsuit walk, evening gown walk and final evening gown walk. It was a busy, but fun day! At the end of the night I was announced as the new Miss Moorhead 2010! I was filled with excitement from the anticipation for the upcoming year.
The next day I joined the beautiful Miss Minnesota, Kathryn Knuttila at her inspirational concert. She held a wonderful program at St. Joseph Parish in Moorhead where the former Miss Moorhead 2008, Savannah Snyder, Miss Moorhead 2009, Bethany Beniek, and Miss Red River Valley's Outstanding Teen 2009, Paige Myer performed there talents. I was able to talk about my personal platform, Habitat for Humanity, and my new fundraiser for Children's Miracle Network.
On Thursday, Miss Red River Valley's Outstanding Teen, Brianna and I attended the outdoor movie night at Trollwood where they played "Curious George". Unfortunately it was a cold night so not as many families came, but it was still fun.
