Water Carnival

Wow! First, summer couldn't come soon enough and now it is almost over!  July is a very busy month with pageants, parades, and just trying to enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.  On July 8th I attended the  Miss Northwest pageant in Detroit Lakes.  All the girls did a wonderful job and I would like to congratulate Siri Freeh for the winning the title of Miss Northwest 2011 and Paige Meyer for winning 1st runner-up!

This pageant was the kick-off to the Detroit Lakes Water Carnival that includes 10 full days of events and fun.  The parade was on the 10th day to wrap up the fun-filled event.  Sunday, was very hot and humid.  It rained for about 30 minutes at the start of the parade and then it held off until about 30 minutes after the parade was finished. I don't mind hot and humid, but not on a day that I am in a dress and riding through the longest parade of the year!  Again, I want to thank my boyfriend for borrowing me his truck for the parade and also driving me through the parade.
